Did Your Public IP Change?

COMMON QUESTIONS

Hide My IP Questions

Does SpeedMeter itself hide my IP?

No. SpeedMeter detects and verifies your public IP. To actually change or hide it, you need a real VPN, proxy, privacy relay, or different network connection.

How can I verify my VPN is working?

Save your public IP on this page, connect your VPN, then use Re-check IP. If the public IP changes, your internet-facing address has changed.

Why can my location still look nearby?

VPN and ISP geolocation databases are approximate. A changed public IP may still map to a nearby city or region.
