Terms & Conditions
These terms explain how SpeedMeter may be used and the limits of browser-based network information, measurements, account features, and third-party data sources.
Updated: August 18, 20261. Website Use
SpeedMeter provides browser-based tools for speed testing, public-IP lookup, network context, DNS-related checks, privacy verification, security checks, educational guides, and account features. You may use the site for lawful personal, administrative, or troubleshooting purposes.
You must not use the site to interfere with systems you do not own or have permission to test, evade access controls, abuse third-party services, or submit unlawful content.
2. Network Tool Results
Tool output can depend on your browser, device, ISP, routing path, DNS resolver, test endpoint, public databases, and external service availability. A result describes the data available at the time of the check.
Security, blacklist, proxy, IP-location, DNS, WebRTC, country, and similar results are informational. They are not certification, identity proof, legal evidence, or a guarantee that a network is safe, private, clean, fast, or correctly configured.
3. Accuracy & Availability
SpeedMeter does not intentionally fabricate missing values. When a live provider or endpoint does not return a usable result, the site may display “Unavailable,” an error, or the last locally saved result if the interface clearly identifies it as saved data.
IP geolocation is approximate. Speed measurements can vary between runs. DNS and reputation data can change without notice.
4. Accounts & Local Data
The current static build may store account state, test history, and saved lookups in the browser. Browser storage is not a substitute for production server authentication. Do not reuse sensitive passwords in a locally stored demo account.
When a server-backed account system is deployed, additional authentication and privacy terms may apply.
5. Third-Party Data & Services
Some tools can query third-party network, DNS, geolocation, reputation, breach, mapping, or proxy-detection services. Their availability, limits, data quality, and terms are controlled by those providers.
Links to external websites are provided for context or next steps. SpeedMeter does not control external sites and is not responsible for their content or availability.
6. Privacy & Security
Do not submit passwords, private keys, payment credentials, or other highly sensitive secrets into general contact fields. Where a tool uses privacy-preserving techniques, the interface describes what is processed and what is sent to a provider.
Network requests may necessarily expose your public IP address to the destination service, as with normal internet communication.
7. Limitations
SpeedMeter is provided for informational and troubleshooting use. You are responsible for decisions made from the results. Where permitted by law, the site is provided without warranties that every tool will always be available, complete, or error-free.
8. Questions
If you have a question about these terms or how a tool behaves, use the Contact page . For technical context, the Guides explain how common network measurements and lookup results should be interpreted.
